Window, menu bar and launch

Where AtControl lives

Settings ▸ General ▸ Show AtControl in:

Mode What you get Note
Window A main window only; the app quits when the window closes
Menu Bar A menu bar item with a popover; no Dock icon Open the window from the popover’s “Open AtControl”
Both (default) Window and menu bar item A window to learn it in, a menu bar item to live in

Launch at Login is a switch on the same pane (macOS may ask you to approve it in System Settings the first time).

The menu bar popover

330 points wide, three parts: the status hero (with the same switch and, in timer or agent state, the countdown or the elapsed time and the task name), the Quick sleep timer chips, and — when agents run, the line that says whether the Mac sleeps after them (Sleep instead / Stay awake), the remote-monitoring line, then Open AtControl, Settings… (⌘,) and Quit (⌘Q). The icon itself changes with the status.

The main window

900 points wide, fitted to its content — Home and Support do not scroll at the default text size and resize themselves in one step when their content changes; Stats and Remote are resizable (640–1200 pt wide). Tabs in the toolbar: Home · Remote · Stats · Support, plus Settings and, on narrow windows, one menu holding all of them. A small phone-link chip in the toolbar shows this Mac’s end of the companion channel and opens a popover with the details.

  • Home — the hero, a nudge to connect a phone (until you do), the agent grid when agents are running, Quick Start, the remote-monitoring line, a one-line stats strip.
  • Remote — the remote-access watcher: live connections and history.
  • Stats — statistics and the full journal.
  • Support — the tip jar.

Text Size is in the View menu (⌘+ / ⌘− / ⌘0) and applies to the main window only; the layout reflows rather than shrinks.

Appearance

Settings ▸ Appearance: a light/dark override just for AtControl (Theme) and an Accent color. Every colour in the app has a light and a dark version.
