On iPad
AtControl Mobile is one app for iPhone and iPad. Nothing in it asks which device it runs on; it measures the width it has and picks a layout:
| Width available | Layout |
|---|---|
| A narrow pane (Slide Over, a small split) | The iPhone layout, exactly |
| From about 500 pt | One column, centred; the three commands share a row; Statistics and Activity become digest cards on the detail screen; Name and Forget share one card |
| From about 760 pt | The detail splits into a rail (status + Control) and a column (person, agent task, statistics digest, name) |
| From about 1000 pt | A third column with a six-row journal |
From 1024 pt of window width a sidebar stands up — Macs, Pair another, Statistics, Activity, with Support and Settings in its footer — and stays up even with one Mac. The Mac you were looking at is kept when you drag the window across that threshold.
Settings on iPad is a sheet that is itself a split view when wide; Name opens as a sheet rather than a pushed screen. Sleep and Shut Down still confirm in a popover anchored to their button, and Forget still asks in an alert.
Everything readable is capped at 700 pt and centred, so a card never puts its heading a foot away from its value.
