Settings reference

Open with ⌘, from the window or the menu bar. The sidebar has a Search field: type what you are looking for (“lid”, “dock”, “token”, “port”) and pick a result to open its pane at the right card. Settings reopens on the pane you left it on, and most cards end in a Learn more link to the page here that explains them.

General

  • Startup — Launch at Login, and When AtControl starts: Keep the Mac awake · Leave it off · Restore the last state (default). Details
  • Where AtControl appears — Show AtControl in: Window · Menu Bar · Both (default). Details

Appearance

  • Theme — Auto · Light · Dark, for AtControl only.
  • Accent color — Blue · Green · Teal. Details

Keep Awake

  • Stop keeping the Mac awake when… — the lid closes · the screen locks · the displays go to sleep · the screensaver starts anyway · the battery runs low (with the threshold, 10 % by default). All on by default except the screensaver rule. Switching users always stops it; agent sessions ignore these rules except low battery. Details

Timer

  • Presets — in your order (drag to reorder, or Move Up / Move Down from a preset’s context menu): the first is the Start button on Home, the first three are the menu bar’s quick timers. Add Preset with the calculator field; Restore Defaults. Details

Agents

Running agents are not here — they are on Home and in the menu bar. Settings holds only the settings.

  • Setup — Shortcuts (Add to Shortcuts… installs the five signed shortcuts, and the row says whether the ones that called are up to date, with Reinstall… when they are not), Your agent (Copy for Your Agent) and the Last command proof row.
  • Access — Shortcuts and App Intents (on by default) and Deeplinks (off by default). While deeplinks are on, Protection: Refuse links opened by apps (default, recommended), Require a token — which shows the token masked, with Copy and Regenerate… (asks first: every deeplink built with the old token is refused) — or No protection. Commands and shortcuts lists what each way in accepts.
  • Behavior — Bring AtControl to the front: Never · For sleep and shutdown (default) · For every command. Session time limit: Off, or 30 minutes to 24 hours (default 8 hours). It applies only to agents asked to sleep or shut down the Mac when their work is done, and to a session you armed with Sleep instead (counted from the arming): one still running when its time is up puts the Mac to sleep (never shuts it down, and not while you keep it awake yourself). Every other agent has no time limit. Details

iPhone

  • Sync with iPhone on/off — switching it off asks first, then unpairs every phone and deletes this Mac’s data from iCloud — the Pair an iPhone… button and its QR window (ten minutes, five attempts, Copy Pairing Link), the paired devices with a revoke control, the Data and privacy note, and — folded away — Command delivery diagnostics (last push received, last periodic check). Details

Remote Access

  • Detection — monitoring on/off and where a new connection is announced.
  • Watched ports — the built-in ports and your own, each switchable.
  • Connection history — how many to show, how many are stored, Clear History…. Details

Activity

  • Recording, how long the journal’s details are kept (statistics are kept for good), clear, export. Details

Advanced

  • Diagnostics — the last problem AtControl recorded, and Export…: a text file from a day you pick, to attach to a report. Details
  • Erase All Data — Erase… deletes the journal, statistics, settings, pairing keys and the agent token on this Mac and this Mac’s data in iCloud, then quits; paired iPhones and iPads erase this Mac too. Details

About

  • Version and build, Help, Website, Privacy Policy, Acknowledgements.

Developer and TestFlight builds carry one more pane, Feature Flags, which does not ship.
