Terms of Use

Effective 27 September 2026. These terms apply to AtControl for Mac, AtControl Mobile and the website atcontrol.app, provided by Tomasz Klocek, Wrocław, Poland (“we”). By installing or using the apps or the site you agree to them. Apps obtained through the App Store or TestFlight are also subject to Apple’s terms; where they differ, Apple’s licence terms for the App Store govern the licence to the software.

1. What AtControl is

AtControl keeps a Mac awake, sleeps or shuts it down on request, shows and controls that Mac from a paired iPhone or iPad, records what it did in a journal, watches for remote-access connections, and lets AI agents on the same Mac register sessions. It does this through the facilities macOS and iOS provide to every app; it does not and cannot override the operating system.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the apps on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store usage rules. You may not reverse engineer, redistribute or sell the apps except where the law allows it regardless of this clause.

3. Price and tips

AtControl for Mac is free. The Support page offers optional one-time tips, purchased through Apple’s in-app purchase system and billed to your Apple account; tips unlock no features and are not refundable by us — Apple handles refunds under its own policy. AtControl Mobile is free today, and syncing through iCloud will always be free, in both apps. AtControl Mobile may later offer paid options, and only for additional ways to sync beyond iCloud; they would be optional, sold through Apple’s in-app purchase system, and these terms will be updated before they are offered. AtControl for Mac stays free.

4. Public beta

Beta versions are provided through Apple’s TestFlight, under Apple’s TestFlight terms, for testing. Beta software may contain errors, may stop working when a build expires, and may change or lose settings between builds. Save your work before testing sleep or shutdown. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the apps; do not send pairing links, tokens, private keys or other people’s personal data.

5. Your responsibilities

  • Power actions are real. A sleep or shutdown you request — directly, from your phone, or through an agent — will be attempted. Unsaved work may be lost. You are responsible for what runs on your Mac and for the tasks you give an agent.
  • Keeping a Mac awake has consequences: heat, battery use, a screen that stays on, a machine that stays reachable. Use the “stop blocking” rules and the timer accordingly.
  • Remote-access monitoring is informational. It reports connections it observes on the ports and processes you configured. It is not a firewall, does not block anything and may miss connections that use other ports.
  • Pairing and agent access are trust decisions. Pair only devices you control; share the agent setup message only with agents you trust with this Mac; regenerate the capability token if you think it was exposed. Anyone signed in to your iCloud account can, by design, reach the private database the apps use.

6. Availability and third-party services

The companion features depend on Apple’s iCloud and notification services, on both devices being signed in to the same iCloud account, and on network conditions. Delivery of commands and alerts is not guaranteed, may be delayed, and does not happen while a Mac is asleep. We do not operate those services and are not responsible for their availability.

7. No warranty

The apps and the site are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind to the extent the law allows. In particular we do not warrant that a Mac will stay awake, will sleep or shut down at a given moment, that an alert will reach you, or that monitoring will detect every connection.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, lost work, damage to hardware from prolonged operation, or security incidents on a Mac that was kept awake or reachable, arising from use of the apps. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for consumers under the law of their country of residence.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Poland. Consumers in the European Union keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country they live in.

10. Changes

We may update these terms when the apps change. The date at the top tells you when. Continued use after a change means you accept it; if you do not, stop using the apps and delete them.
